Yes, WINGS is up-to-date except for any assignments that were handed in on Thurs 1/14. Students still have assignments that are due on 1/21 and they are:

International Problems: After studying Immigration issues and seeing the court system deal with immigration what is your solution to illegal immigration in America?

HS Language Arts: Final draft of essay AND collection of Best Reading, Best Writing Samples and list of reading materials from this semester. **Also Mr. Sobotta has assigned a World View Essay that I have offered the students extra credit for if they turn this in on Thursday as well.

HS World History: Students are to organize their notebooks into a portfolio of work. They are to highlight their Best work in this class as well as to turn in Best Reading and Writing samples and a list of reading materials* This is for students that only have me for World History. All Students need to have this turned in!

MS Language Arts: Final draft of essay AND collection of Best Reading, Best Writing Samples and list of reading materials from this semester.

MS World History On Thursday we will be doing more presentations as we took time in class to discuss the devestation in Haiti and what we could do to help. Students are to organize their portfolios and select their best work from this semester as well.

Cooking: Middle Schoolers and High Schoolers are competing on Thursday. Students should bring not only thier food entry but also a recipe (I need 20 copies so please make copies OR email me the recipe and I will make sure that copies are made.) Please review the assignment with your student as their group may have assigned specific items to bring as well.

Information Vital to January

Field trips have been organized for International Problems...on Thursday the 7th we will be going to Fiesta Foods in Pasco. We are looking at the economic impact that the Hispanic Community has here in the Tri-Cities.
On Thursday the 14th we are traveling to the Federal Courthouse in Richland to see Federal Courtcases in action!!

Students have to have the official form from the District to go!!

Also please go over the calendar for January with your students as there are important dates for both students and parents.

I am also trying to make sure that everyone has ample time to sign up for your REQUIRED face to face meetings. This is even more vital this time around as you and your student will sit down with your consultant to discuss credits for at home and onsite classes.
You and your student need to be present for this meeting!

I will have the calendar in my room tomorrow and then it will be in the school office area for you to sign up on. For those of you that need a later time be sure to sign up ASAP to make sure you get the time you need!

Also one last thing...be sure to update your January WINGS report BEFORE your face to face meeting so that all the information that is required is up to date!
