One more week until Spring Break!!

In Class Activity: Poetry Notebook
Tuesday and Wednesday Homework **As always 30 minutes reading with a short summary (5-7 sentences) of what you read**

Tuesday and Wednesday’s homework: Writer’s Workshop Activity
Using your Writer’s Model, select a poem from your literature textbook and analyze it using the model as a template. You will also need to use your poetry handout from earlier to select the elements you want to focus on. This should be a well written five paragraph essay when you have completed it.

Thursday: Writing in the Workplace

World Geography
High School World Geography-How is your garden growing?
Monday’s Topic: Languages
In Class Activity: Common Spanish phrases

Homework: Complete assigned work on APEX. Thursday: Reading in Spanish

Middle School United States History
Monday’s Topic: Inventions that led to the “necessity” of slaves

Homework Tuesday: Triangular Slave Trade-What examples can you and your parents come up with that would help persuade the public that slavery was inhumane

Wednesday’s Homework: Looking at the inventions that came about, select one and defend your reason that that particular invention had the biggest impact on increasing slavery in America. Watch one of the videos at: http://videos.howstuffworks.com/search.php?terms=cotton+gin&media=video&x=50&y=13

Thursday’s Topic: Slavery timeline activity

Middle School Language Arts
Monday’s Topic: Poetry in Action
Homework: Students will need to read a minimum of 30 minutes a night and will write a 5 sentence of summary of what is occurring in their book.

Tuesday’s Homework: Finish Biography #2
Wednesday’s Homework: Watch one of the following videos and write a 5 paragraph biography on ONE of the individuals. http://www.learn360.com/ShowVideo.aspx?SearchText=biography&ID=130150

Thursday: Family stories

Cooking class will be going on a field trip on Thursday. All students are responsible for bringing in their list of 25 items. Any parent interested in going with the class please contact me as soon as possible!

Next week is Spring Break and there will be no Davis Dispatch or major projects due.

Students should continue to read their books and
work on any semester projects.
